Overview

SwiftDelivery operates a last-mile delivery network across Lagos,serving e-commerce businesses and restaurants with over 200 drivers completing 3,000+ deliveries daily. Their legacy dispatch system relied heavily on manual coordination, leading to inefficient routing, delayed deliveries, and poor driver utilization.

We built FleetOps, a comprehensive logistics management platform that automates dispatch, optimizes routes in real-time, and provides complete visibility into the entire delivery lifecycle from pickup to completion.

The Challenge

The existing system presented multiple operational bottlenecks:

• Manual order assignment taking 5-10 minutes per delivery
• Suboptimal routing increasing fuel costs by an estimated 30%

Driver Mobile App

A native mobile application provides drivers with everything they need:

• Proof of delivery with photo capture and digital signatures
• Real-time earnings tracking and performance metrics
• In-app support chat for immediate assistance
• Cash collection management and end-of-day reconciliation

Technical Stack

The system processes GPS coordinates from 200+ drivers every 10 seconds, using WebSocket connections for real-time updates. Route optimization algorithms run in AWS Lambda functions, leveraging parallel processing to calculate optimal paths in under 2 seconds.
